Hi there! I’m Aubrey. I’m married to my best friend, Jake, and we have two blue-eyed boys, Jude and Shay. Just before my first son was born, I decided to ditch my 9 to 5 and pursue my real estate license. I spend most days trying to keep up with my ball-of-energy boys, coffee in hand, between working part-time as a real estate agent!
When Jake and I bought our very first home in 2012, a 1940’s two-story, we had absolutely zero experience in home projects or renovations. We were just two kids excited to be homeowners and make our place our own, although on a budget. Little by little, we found ourselves DIY-ing our way into a home that we absolutely loved- Youtube tutorials and Pinterest and good ol’ HGTV inspiration definitely were our springboards, haha! Our first major project was painting our kitchen cabinets which was definitely no small feat. Once we saw the transformations we were able to make on our own, we were hooked!
Just two years ago, we moved into our current house as our family grew- this time, a 1970’s brick colonial that we fell in love with. It’s a bit dated and has its quirks, but has such good bones. It’s challenging us to work in our personal style once again, one room at a time. We’ve done mostly cosmetic updates over the past couple of years, but we’re gearing up to do some bigger remodels soon (stay tuned!). We’re learning (I should say, I’M learning) to take my time in making style and project choices that I truly love, instead of rushing to the finish line. I think a huge part of making your home a place you truly love is to enjoy the journey and the process, to really relish putting your vision together and watching it come to life. Even more so, we strive to create a space that exudes a sense of love for our family, and really anyone who walks into our home!
I’m so, SO thrilled to launch Love Living Here with Laura! Home design and projects have always been passions of mine and I’ve been so inspired by this amazing community of designers and DIY-ers that share their homes and hearts. Having this space to share our own home projects and personal style with you is pretty much a dream come true. So glad you’re here!
